Hajra Khan, Rameen Fareed help Army thump Riaz Kamil FC 9-0

Teenage talent Rameen Fareed and experienced Hajra Khan scored three goals each to guide defending champions Pakistan Army to their third consecutive win - a 9-0 shellacking of Riaz Kamil FC - in the ongoing 13th National Women Football Championship at the KMC Football Stadium on Wednesday.

Hajra provided Army the lead in the fifth minute and Rameen doubled it in six minutes later before Eshal Fawaz (16th minute) and Swabia Sarfaraz (20th) inflated the scoreline to 4-0. 

Hajra and Rameen scored their second goals respectively in the 26th and 28th minutes to swell Army's lead to 6-0.

Rameen scored her third goal in the 53rd minute when she netted the ball from outside the penalty area. Rishail smashed the eighth for Army in the 69th minute and Hajra scored the ninth and final goal seconds before the final whistle.

The match remained suspended for more than 10 minutes when goal keeper of Riaz Kamil FC Nida Karim was hit on head while stopping a ball kicked by Army’s forward. 

She partially lost consciousness and after initial aid and assessment on pitch, she was stretchered off the ground and taken to hospital where doctors declared her out of danger. She was later discharged from the hospital.

Diya women football club also continued their winning run with a 9-0 dismantling of Nawansheher United to register their third victory of the tournament. They also confirmed their place in next round.

The experienced Rukhsar Rashid scored three goals while Zunaira Shah netted the ball twice.

In another group D match, Mohsin Gillani WFC downed MUK club 5-0 to registered their first win the tournament.

Ayesha Shafiq and Arisha scored two goals each while Shanzay scored one goal.

Earlier, at the KPT ground, in a group C match, Jafa Soccer Academy downed Young Rising Stars to register their second win of the tournament.

For Jafa, Fatima scored two goals while Bismah and Kiran scored one goal apiece to help their side win 4-0.
