Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle on Thursday said that he doesn’t think Asia Cup will take place this year due to Indian cricket team’s packed international calendar.

“There was an Asia Cup scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka, I don’t see that happening,” Bhogle said while reviewing the T20I series between India and England on Cricbuzz’s official YouTube channel.

Asia Cup was scheduled to take place in June this year after getting postponed last year. However, it is likely to be delayed again due to India’s busy schedule at that time.

“I don’t know when their (India’s) white-ball games that were scheduled in Sri Lanka apart from the Asia Cup will now take place because World test Championship Final ends on the 22nd of June and India have got to be back in England at least by the 20th of July for the first game starting on the 4th of August,” Bhogle added.

Earlier on March 1, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani also revealed that the tournament will likely be postponed as it will clash with the World Test Championship final in June.

While the fate of the tournament remains uncertain, there were reports that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could send a second-string India side for this summer's Asia Cup.
