Karachi Kings fielding coach Kamran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) taking place in the city’s National Stadium, team franchise confirmed on Tuesday.

“Of the three positive Covid test results in PSL, only one is from Karachi Kings. Our fielding coach Kamran Khan has tested positive,” Karachi Kings shared on their official social media pages.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Director – Media and Communications, Samiul Hasan Burney confirmed that three positive Covid-19 cases have emerged in the bio-secure bubble after an outbreak in Islamabad United’s camp was reported.

"Of the 244 tests conducted, three have come back positive,” he said. “Two foreign players and one support staff have tested positive.”

Australian spinner Fawad Ahmed was one of the two foreign players who tested positive while the identity of the other player has not been disclosed.

The PCB official added the tournament will continue as per scheduled as all three personnel had been isolated from the rest, adding that they were being quarantined at a different floor on the same hotel.
