Defending champions Karachi take on two-time winners Islamabad tonight

Karachi: Defending champions Karachi Kings and two-time Pakistan Super League (PSL) winners Islamabad United will play their second match in HBL PSL 2021 tonight against each other here at National Stadium.

The two teams have played each other 14 times in PSL so far with United taking the lead by winning eight matches while Kings were victorious in the other six.

Both United and Kings won their first matches in the ongoing sixth edition of the league and will look to continue the winning streak.

Kings kicked off their campaign with a seven-wicket win over Quetta Gladiators in the tournament opener on Saturday. The title defenders chased the 122-run target comfortably with 37 runs to spare.

They seem the most balanced squad this season with all the bases covered. Pakistan team captain Babar Azam, who on Saturday became the highest run scorer in the league’s history, adds a lot of strength to Kings’ batting along with Colin Ingram, Joe Clarke and Sharjeel Khan.

Meanwhile, United also started their journey this season with a three-wicket win over Multan Sultans on Sunday. The two-time PSL winners have most of the strength in their all-rounders with likes of Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf and Lewis Gregory playing for them.

Match starts at 7pm tonight and will be broadcasted live on Geo Super.
