Shadab Khan says Hasan Ali will raise Islamabad United’s bowling unit

Shadab Khan, captain of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United, has said that the inclusion of fast bowler Hasan Ali will raise the bowling unit of the team, The News reported today.

Talking to reporters on Wednesday, the 22-year-old said that his close friend would put a new life in United’s bowling. “Hasan is a great character and the way he has caught his rhythm and form I believe that he will raise our whole bowling unit. And the presence of such a character in the team as Hasan is very important,” Shadab said.

The bowler represented Peshawar Zalmi in all five seasons of PSL but this time opted to join United.

Shadab said that Hasan will not be overburdened and workload of him and Faheem Ashraf both would be managed. “Yes, we will try to manage workload of both Hasan and Faheem who have been playing for Pakistan,” he said.

“Hasan has made a comeback after injury and the way he has performed for the national team is exceptional.”

Shadab himself has been facing fitness issues from last few months and remained out of the Pakistan team for quite some time. Regarding his comeback following injury, the United captain said that mentally it takes some time to settle down.

“Definitely after recovery you need some time to settle down and regain confidence mentally. But training more will help me get the confidence back,” he said.

Shadab was confident that his team will do well in HBL PSL 6, claiming all his players are in top form. “The best thing is that our team carries national players and those overseas players who have recently featured in Big Bash and T10 league and they are in top form,” he said.

“Last year we did not perform well. And keeping that in view we went for the draft and what we had thought we got that. InshaAllah I am confident we will bounce back and play good cricket this season,” the all-rounder added.
