LAHORE: West Indies’ coach for the ICC World Cup 2019 Mushtaq Ahmed, said on Tuesday that while staying with his team is his professional responsibility, his heart and soul lies with Pakistan.

The acclaimed coach who formerly played for the Pakistan team as leg-break googly bowler expressed his thoughts at being positioned in a difficult spot during the approaching World Cup as his personal and professional inklings have come clashing.

“I am with the West Indies team because of professional commitments. I will try to not speak much at the team meeting before match against Pakistan,” he stated.

Moreover, he went on to express that earlier while coaching the Pakistan team he felt disappointed at seeing them lose against England saying: "It is not easy to see Pakistan lose like that.”

Speaking about the World Cup and the strategy prepared by Windies during the tournament’s second match as they clash with Pakistan on May 31, Ahmed stated: “The team has fierce batsmen and its bowlers are most likely to deliver bouncers.”

"I do foster warm wishes for Pakistan but my professional commitments demand that I work hard for the West Indies team and coach them to the best," he further added.
