LONDON: India were easily beaten by New Zealand after two brilliant  half-centuries by Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson and a remarkable bowling peformance by Trent Boult in their first warmup match here at The Oval on Saturday.

After India's captain Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first,  New Zealand bowled out his whole team for 179 in 39.2 overs.

Then they easily completed the chase of 180 runs in 37.1 overs to win the match by six wickets.

Taylor scored 71 from 75 balls with eight fours while Williamson made 67 off 87 balls with six fours and a six.

Other scorers were Martin Guptill (22), Henry Nicholls (15 not out) and Colin Munro (4).

Earlier, left-arm pacer Trent Boult destroyed Indian batting lineup, capturing four wickets for 33 runs as Virat Kohli’s side was bowled out for 179 in 39.2 overs after opting for batting first.

Left-handed batsman Ravindra Jadeja was the only batsman to hit a fifty for India as he made 54 off 50 balls with six fours and two sixes.

Only four other batsmen could get into the double figures. They were Hardik Pandya (30), Kuldeep Yadav (19), Kohli (18) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (17).
