The Pakistan Cricket Board has allowed families to stay with the Pakistan players during the World Cup, but not before their match against India on June 16 at Southampton.

A new policy earlier had stated that the families, if they wished to travel with the players, had to arrange their own travel and accommodation during the mega event. Only Haris Sohail and Asif Ali were granted special dispensation on personal grounds, ESPNcricinfo reported.

The players had been informed of the policy following the conclusion of the ODI series against England. Prior to this, the team members were allowed to have their wives accompany them on overseas tours.

Pakistan will launch their World Cup campaign against West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
