Leg-spinner Shadab Khan, who will be playing his first ever World Cup for Pakistan beginning next week, shared his emotions on what the feat means for him, calling it a “dream come true”.

The 20-year-old, who has recovered from a virus-related illness and is with the squad in England, tweeted about the emotional moment when he picked up his World Cup kit bearing his name.

“Emotional moment. Will get to wear @TheRealPCB World Cup kit and represent my beautiful country at the biggest cricket event on the planet,” Shadab captioned a video clip that captured the moment.

He also shared a photo with his teammates and best friends Hasan Ali and Fakhar Zaman, and said playing in the World Cup was a dream come true for all of them.

“As children we all dream of playing for Pakistan in a World Cup. To wear our national team’s world cup jersey. It is a dream come true for us. We will try to give it our all in the World Cup. Support your county & pray for our success.”

Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against the West Indies on May 31 at Trent Bridge.
