'Good side' Karachi Kings will take some stopping: Sohail Akhtar

PSL 2020: Lahore Qalandars' Sohail Akhtar says he wants to restrict Karachi Kings to a small total tonight

March 12, 2020

Lahore Qalandars captain Sohail Akhtar has said that his team's Thursday night opponents Karachi Kings were "a good side", with a balanced batting and bowling line-up that will take some stopping.

"Karachi Kings are a good side," Akhtar said in an interview with Geo News. "They have balance in both the departments. Our aim against them will be to restrict them to [as lower a total as possible] and don't allow them to post big scores."

The Qalandars skipper expressed confidence in his own team's ability to continue their winning run that has seen them win three matches on the bounce.

"We have got the momentum and I am confident that we'll continue with that. We have got our combination right and I am looking to continue with that," he said.

Akhtar also praised in-form batsman Ben Dunk's, saying that the Aussie's performances have given the franchise "confidence and relief".

"It is good to have someone who is leading the batting aggressively. It is a good sign for the team that Ben Dunk is in great form."

He also expressed delight over Fakhar Zaman's drought-breaking half century against Peshawar Zalmi in the last match, saying that he was always confident about the previously misfiring opening batsman's skills and always trusted him to get back among runs.

"Everyone goes through bad patches, and Fakhar also had one but he's past it. I am glad that he's regained his form. It is good for him as well," said the skipper.
