A vintage spell of swing bowling by Mohammad Amir and later an unbeaten 70 by Babar Azam helped Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by six wickets in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 encounter on Monday.

Amir’s double wicket salvo in the opening over of the match, including the picture perfect castling of Haider Ali, devastated the Zalmi top order to such effect that they were never truly in the game for the rest of the night even if they managed to post a decent 152 runs courtesy Shoaib Malik’s battling 68.

In reply, Karachi too were rocked early when they lost opener Sharjeel Khan (4) but Babar and Alex Hales’ 101-run partnership for the second wicket made sure that there were no twists in the tale.

Karachi added two more points to their tally and climbed up to third spot on the points table behind just Multans Sultans and Quetta Gladiators.
