South African cricketer Colin Ingram is in awe of the bowling talent, especially the pacers, that Pakistan Super League's headhunters pluck out of thin air year in, year out.

Talking to Geo News in Karachi, the 34-year old South African heaped praise on the standard of the PSL, saying that it is among the top leagues in the world.

"Every team has got one good spinner, some of them two, and then some of the fast bowling talent that I have seen, especially in death bowling over the last couple of years, has been outstanding. [Teams here] seem to unveil young superstars with the ball every year," Ingram said.

"For me as a batsman, [it is surprising that] sometimes those unknown guys bowl quickly. Last year, there were a couple of new faces who bowled really quick. It is always so exciting to see those sort of cricketers being produced," he added.

Ingram has moved from Karachi Kings to Islamabad United for PSL 2020, and he is looking forward to playing for the only two-time champions.

Last year, he scored a career-best 127 — the highest individual score in PSL history. Recalling that innings against Quetta Gladiators in Sharjah, the flamboyant batsman says that it was a special knock.

"It was a special night and a special innings. We had lost a couple of games and I wasn't scoring many runs so it was time to put the hammer down. That innings got us a win and got us going in the tournament," he said.

"I hope I do the same again and create some memorable moments here too."

Ingram also shared his memories from his previous visit to Pakistan with Karachi Kings for the 4th edition of PSL, and said that the visit made him realise how hungry people are in Pakistan for cricket.

"It was definitely special coming here to see how excited people were here for cricket and the excitement in the stadium and around the country at that time. It was nice to be a part of a wonderful atmosphere. I am expecting that this time wherever we go, as we'll be moving around at different venues, it will be the same," Ingram said.
