Shoaib Malik, Herschelle Gibbs set to feature in World Masters League T20

Six teams will participate in the tournament which is set to begin in South Africa

Veteran Pakistan’s all-rounder Shoaib Malik is set to feature in the World Masters League T20 which will begin at the iconic Kingsmead Cricket Stadium in Durban, South Africa, in the first week of August.

Six teams, Indraprasth Warriors, Gulf Superstars, Sydney Spartans, Colombo Titans, Lahore Lions, and Caribbean Pirates will be in action in the tournament with prominent names from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, West Indies, England and more gracing the event.

Malik, who made his Pakistan debut in 1999, opened up after joining the league saying that this tournament brings some of the best cricketers around the world together and they would make it a fantastic event.

Legendary South Africa's cricketer Herschelle Gibbs will also be in action. He will be gracing the tournament with the likes of former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel, former Sri Lanka cricketers Angelo Perera and Dhamika Prasad, Malik and many others.

"I'm incredibly excited to join the World Masters League T20. This tournament brings together some of the greatest cricketers from around the world, and I'm looking forward to taking the field with them. It's going to be a fantastic event full of thrilling matches,” Malik said.

On the other hand, the CEO of the World Masters League, Rajeev Mishra, also expressed his enthusiasm on commencement of the league.

"We are thrilled to bring the World Masters League T20 to the iconic Kingsmead Cricket Stadium. This venue has a rich history and will provide the perfect backdrop for some of the greatest cricketing talent to shine,” Mishra said.
