India have won the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final by seven runs and lifted the trophy for the second time in history.

South Africa had to chase a target of 177 in 20 overs but Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram and turned the game completely in India’s favour.

Former cricketers and fans are showering the veteran pacer with praise for his game-changing spell of 2 for 18 in the final against South Africa.

Former cricketers Irfan Pathan and Michael Vaughan took to their respective X accounts (formerly Twitter) to applaud the Indian bowler for his magnificent spell.

“I think Bumrah is the greatest ever White ball seam bowler,” wrote Vaughan on his X account.

While former Indian cricketer, Pathan called Bumrah one of the greatest white-ball bowlers, “We Indians are lucky to have one of the greatest white-ball bowlers in our rank. Jasprit Bumrah.”

An hour before the final clash began, Vaughan had also predicted India as winners of the T20 World Cup 2024. He also predicted for Virat Kohli to score 50 runs in the final and the veteran batter went on to score 76 off 59 balls, his highest score of the T20 World Cup.

Bumrah has been phenomenal in the entire T20 World Cup 2024 with 15 wickets in eight matches of the tournament. He only went wicket-less against the USA in the group stage of the tournament and after that, he picked up at least one wicket per game.

Bumrah’s outstanding outing in the T20 World Cup also resulted in him being awarded with the Player of the Tournament.
