Former England captain Michael Vaughan has predicted the winner of the T20 World Cup 2024 final between India and South Africa at the Kensington Oval, Barbados.

Both of the teams have been undefeated in the T20 World Cup 2024 with South Africa winning eight games and India winning seven games (one of their match was abandoned due to rain).

For the Aiden Markram led South African team, this is their first World Cup final appearance after eight tries. Their latest semi-final loss was against Australia in the Cricket World Cup in 2023 and Australia later went on to win their sixth World Cup title that year.

As for India, this is the third time that the Nen in Blue have qualified for a T20 World Cup final. The first time they played a T20 World Cup final was back in 2007 – the first-ever T20 World Cup – and they won the tournament by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in the final.

Then they played the 2014 T20 World Cup final against Sri Lanka but lost the match. The hype is high for the final between the only two unbeaten teams of the tournament and Michael Vaughan has predicted India as the winner of the final.

Vaughan took to his X account (formerly Twitter) and wrote “My feeling is India will be too strong for SA in Barbados. Virat for a 50 and India to win is my prediction.”

India’s Virat Kohli has been out of form for the entire tournament scoring just 75 runs in seven innings. The fans and cricket experts are expecting him to score big in the final against South Africa.

It must be noted India are batting first in the final after winning the toss.
