India qualified for the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 by beating England in the second semi-final of the event on Thursday at Guyana's Providence Stadium.

This is India’s third T20 World Cup final appearance. The side won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 by beating Pakistan and then in 2014 they lost to Sri Lanka in the final.

This time, India will face South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final tomorrow in Barbados. Both of the teams have been destructive and have been unbeaten in the tournament.

South Africa’s bowling cards have been in their favour and there have been speculations that they will continue their destructive streak against India. Sanjay Manjrekar believes that India will fare well against South Africa’s bowling, spinners and pacers alike.

Talking on ESPNCricinfo’s Timeout, Manjrekar regarded South Africa’s bowling attack and their captain as a good combination, “It is a very good bowling attack (South Africa’s) led by a captain who on the day will go to the bowler, who is likely to make more of an impact. So, yes India will be tested but I don’t see Indian batting having an issue because they have just found different players to come to terms with the challenge.”

Manjrekar also stated that if the performing players are having a bad day in cricket then other players step up and perform.

If the usual suspects don’t get it somebody else comes and handles the situation. That is how India will play.”

He also revealed that he is wary of how the South African batters will fare during the final.

“The South African batting will be the major issue that will decide the fate of the match and the difference between the two sides,” he concluded.
