Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad reacted to head coach Gary Kirsten's claims regarding the team's unity, fitness and skill set after they were eliminated from the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024.

According to sources, Kirsten, in a candid discussion with the Pakistan team in the dressing room after its exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup, said that the fitness level of the players is not up to the mark.

Kirsten added that the team is also far behind in terms of skill level as compared with the rest of the world.

Despite playing so much cricket, no one knows which shot to play and when, Kirsten further stated.

Meanwhile, Shehzad has asked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to take notice.

"If Gary Kirsten's team talk is true, it's not shocking at all. We have been saying this throughout the World Cup. It's time for accountability, this team is plagued with grouping and crackdown is the only option. The players involved must be punished and an example should be set for next generation of cricketers. PCB chairman must take notice," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The former South African cricketer also said that, ever since he has joined, he has noticed that there is no unity in this team. Kirsten said that players don't support each other and he hasn't seen a situation like this before despite working with many teams.

Kirsten has clearly stated that the players who improves these aforementioned things will be in the team, otherwise they will be excluded.

Pakistan beat Ireland by three wickets in their last match of the T20 World Cup 2024 which was held at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, Florida on Sunday.

Pakistan's shock defeat to the USA and loss to India meant they were eliminated from the event before the Super 8.

The win against Ireland ensured that Pakistan finished third in Group A with two wins from four games.

Im from Bangladesh, and in my opinion, after the departure of Ramiz Raza from PCB, there was lots of experiments in Pakistan Cricket. Babar was axed/ replaced by Shon Masood or by Shaheen Afridi. From that time disciplines in the team was broken and factions began.
