Pacer Mohammad Amir praised skipper 'humble' Babar Azam as he strives to learn as a leader as well as a batter.

Speaking ahead of the T20 World Cup game between Pakistan and India in New York on Sunday, the 32-year-old said Babar always thinks about the batting and learn.

"Babar Azam is a very humble guy and always thinks hard about his batting. He loves his batting, even in the nets he's still there batting when we finish," Amir said.

"The best thing in him is that he always tries to learn. As a leader, he's learning, as a batter he's doing so well for Pakistan and himself, but he still wants to learn," he added.

It must be noted Pakistan have opted to bowl first against India. Speaking at the toss, Babar said they have benched Azam Khan and replaced him with Imad Wasim.

Remember, Pakistan lost to the United States (USA) in their T20 World Cup opener after a thrilling Super Over as they struggled greatly with the bat.

Mohammad Amir took the ball in the Super Over and the USA concluded their innings 18-1 in reply, the Men in Green could only score 13-1 and ended up losing the match by five runs.

The loss has put Pakistan at crossroads and the game against India is of significant importance as a loss in New York tomorrow would greatly put their chances of qualifying for Super Eight in danger.

Meanwhile, India defeated Ireland at the same venue on Wednesday.
