Cricket legend Ramiz Raja has warned Pakistan’s coaches on handling the workload of the teen pace sensation Naseem Shah after the 16-year-old survived an injury scare in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh on Sunday.

Raja, in a video on YouTube, advised the coaching staff to handle their prized pacer with caution as he may risk overworking himself in the longest format given his tender age.

"Test cricket is not easy for any 16-year-old so Pakistan will have to decide between playing him in all formats or restricting him to just Test cricket," Raja said.

In extension to this, the former cricketer exemplified England fastbowler Jofra Archer, who was ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL), to give a gentle reminder of the consequences.

"You have to be careful with him otherwise he may break like Archer."

Furthermore, the commentator said that the national team's bowling attack was a work-in-progress and that it needed to understand the extent to which their players could bear.

"Pakistan’s bowling attack is still developing. It is still not complete. Naseem Shah is young and he has already got injured, so Pakistan needs to figure out his workload,” Raja said.

Naseem on Sunday became the youngest to claim a hat-trick in the second innings of the first Test against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Stadium.
