Mike Tyson caused concern after suddenly falling ill during a flight from Miami, the US media reported.

"Iron" Mike Tyson, known for his tough-as-nails reputation, caused a stir on an aeroplane flying from Miami to LA on Sunday.

The 57-year-old former heavyweight boxing champion reportedly became nauseous and dizzy during the flight, prompting staff members to take action.

Airline staff asked passengers if there was a doctor on board who could provide assistance as they tried to manage the situation.

When the flight landed in Los Angeles, paramedics boarded the plane to administer treatment to Tyson.

Meanwhile, Tyson's representatives have issued a statement on his health.

"Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him."

There were rumours that the flight was delayed because of Tyson's medical issue, but his representatives debunked that.

"It's false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay," the rep stated. "This two-hour delay was due to an air conditioning issue on the aircraft."

Tyson, 57, is set to return to the boxing ring for his first professional fight in nearly two decades when he faces Paul, 27, in a blockbuster showdown at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix.

By the time the two combatants step into the ring for their heavyweight clash, Tyson will have celebrated his 58th birthday and be 31 years older than Paul. The fight will consist of eight two-minute rounds, with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves.
