Showbiz is a natural transition for cricketers who are already used to cameras and make for great pundits, good presenters or in some cases, even half-decent actors.

But very few cricketers, or any sort of athletes for that matter, opt for music with their careers winding down.

Offspinner Bilal Asif, however, has taken the road less travelled.

The 6'3 cricketer, who we knew was a bit of a singer, has taken things to the next level, tweeting on Saturday that he is about to release a song he wrote himself.

"I’m super-excited to get you my very own single for the first time ever," Asif told his followers on Twitter. "It’s written and sung by myself. I’m very hopeful that you all will like it."

Asif, for those who don't know, is the tall spinner who ripped through the Australian batting line-up on debut, taking six wickets for just 36 runs.

If his debut song is half as good as his debut Test, we're in for a treat.

Until the song is out, here's a glimpse of what he can do:
