Carlo Ancelotti is aiming for a personal record after successfully extending his contract with Real Madrid which would see him staying in the Spanish capital till 2026.

Los Blancos decided to renew the Italian’s contract considering the exceptional work he has done with the team this season as Madrid only lost one match among 24 and are on top of the La Liga table.

They also qualified for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) knockout stage with a 100% win record in the group stage, all this with a bench full of injured players.

Ancelotti has won 10 titles with the Whites so far, and he is the third-most decorated manager in the club's history only behind Zinedine Zidane (11) and the legendary Miguel Munoz (14).

With two more years added to his contract, Ancelotti is now aiming to become the most successful manager in Madrid’s history by taking his title tally to 15.

Real Madrid will play the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Atletico Madrid on January 11 and the Italian wants to equal Zidane’s record of 11 trophies in the first month of 2024.

Ancelotti joined Real Madrid in 2021 to begin his second stint at the Spanish club after he was sacked in 2015 following a trophyless season.

The Italian did an impressive job in his first season (2021/22) by guiding the Los Blancos to La Liga and the UCL title win.

Ancelotti coached Madrid’s team who, arguably, had the greatest run in the UCL history where they faced Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the round of 16, Chelsea in the quarter-final, Manchester City in the semi-final and then Liverpool in the final.

Last season wasn’t Madrid’s best as they failed to win La Liga and the UCL. However, they managed to win the Copa del Rey for the first time since 2014, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.

During his first stint with Madrid in the 2013-14 season, Carlo helped Madrid end their 12-year UCL drought as they won the historic final against Atletico Madrid in Lisbon, courtesy of Sergio Ramos’ famous last-minute header goal in 92nd minute of the game.
