KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team players have decided to temporarily avoid public appearances following their humiliating whitewash in the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka, Daily Jang reported on Friday.

The fans are reportedly livid with the way the team performed in the series, and some even reserved some choice remarks for the players at the conclusion of the third and final T20I on Wednesday.

There were even reports of players' posters being torn off on the roads leading up to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

In order to avoid a possible security situation, the players have reportedly decided to avoid public places so the fans could cool off.

Several players, as per the Urdu daily, did not even head to their homes following the final match, instead opting to go to hotels in Faisalabad in their private cars.

Pakistan were hot favourites heading into the T20I series and expected to clean sweep the depleted islanders. However, in a stunning spree of upsets, they ended up losing all three matches themselves.
