Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh expressed his eagerness and excitement to play in the upcoming West Test scheduled to be played against Pakistan at Perth Stadium from December 14-19.

Marsh, 32, played a pivotal role in Australia's victorious World Cup campaign, amassing 441 runs, including two centuries, notably an unbeaten 177.

He reclaimed his Test spot during the Ashes series and capitalised on an injury to fellow West Australian Cameron Green by swiftly scoring a century at Headingley.

The all-rounder has never played a Test match in Perth before but the 32-year-old is eager to make his longer format debut at the stadium. He also talked about the condition of the stadium’s wicket, calling it the best in the world.

"This is the best wicket in the world. I haven't played any Test match in Perth, but if I got selected, I would be super excited to feature in the West Test. This pitch is fast and bouncy, this is what you want as a player which brings batter and bowler both an equal chance to contest," Marsh said during an interview with Cricket Australia.

The all-rounder also expressed his gratitude for being part of the Australian cricket team and stated that he has found his batting method in the last few years and also praised skipper Pat Cummins for the way he has led the team.

"I love being part of the Australian team, whatever the format it is. It's an absolute pleasure to play for this team from the last few years. I think I have found my most consistent method of batting from the last couple of years.

"Last nine years were amazing for the Australia cricket team in all three formats. Pat Cummins is leading the team very well. This team is built for accomplishments, and we are really proud of our team," the 32-year-old concluded.

Earlier, Marsh confirmed that he if got a chance to play against Pakistan, he would not change the way he bats, which is aggressive.

"The way I'm going to bat won't change. I feel like I've found my most consistent method over the last couple of years and that's allowed me to really enjoy my cricket," he said. "I haven't played a [Test] match here at Perth Stadium, so obviously, if I'm selected, I'm super excited for that."
