Pakistan cricket team's new bowling coach Waqar Younis will be paid Rs2 million a month for coaching the national team as well as unearthing and honing new talent, Daily Jang reported on Friday.

The legendary pacer, who has been settled in Sydney for the last few years but will soon relocate to Lahore with his family, has been handed a pay package that is not far off from the figures offered to Misbah-ul-Haq — the new head coach and chief selector.

However, in return of monthly remuneration of Rs20 lacs, Younis will have to do more than just coach the national team’s bowlers, according to the Urdu daily’s sources.

Younis will reportedly also attend domestic matches and identify new talent before working with them at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
