The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made it mandatory for top national cricketers to participate in domestic cricket, and thus refused to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) beyond September 10.

The top-tier cricketers who can be in the plans of the national selectors are required to play first-class and other domestic tournaments.

Resultantly, fast bowler Wahab Riaz, who had obtained an NOC for T20 Blast and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has got it cancelled. Instead, he is now hard at work at the national team’s pre-season training camp in Lahore.

All-rounder Faheem Ashraf, meanwhile, had applied for an NOC to play in the CPL, but was turned down.

The new season of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Pakistan’s premier domestic tournament, is expected to kick off on September 14.
