Legendary Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has said that he will be visiting the Line of Control (LoC) to highlight the “terrible situation in Kashmir” and appeal for peace in the restive region.

Miandad, in a video posted on his official Twitter account, can be seen saying: “I will go to the border for peace. I will go there and tell everyone that...we want peace and we are with the Kashmiri people.”

“I’m with other legends of sports to be visiting Line of Control( LOC), to make my voice heard, bring greater awareness to the terrible situation in Kashmir and call for peace,” he added.

Miandad is the second major sports star to disclose plans of visiting the LoC. Earlier, British boxing superstar Amir Khan had done the same.
