Lahore Qalandars' all-rounder Liam Dawson had a great time while playing in front of an electrifying crowd on Sunday in Karachi.

Qalandars locked horns with Karachi Kings in the eighth match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. However, the Imad Wasim-led Kings beat Qalandars by 67 runs to win their maiden match in this tournament.

Speaking to the media after the match, Qalandars' Dawson said it was an exciting contest overall.

"It felt amazing to play this contest in front of an electrifying crowd. I enjoyed this match and looking forward to such a crowd in the upcoming matches too," he said.

While talking about Qalandars' performance, Dawson said their batting wasn't up to the mark.

"We didn't perform in batting. Karachi was too good with the bat and they put up a good total on the scoreboard," he highlighted.

Meanwhile, Dawson also gave credit to his captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf.

"Our bowlers gave their hundred percent in the match. Especially, Shaheen and Haris. They both led the bowling from the front," he concluded.

Karachi Kings won maiden match in PSL 8

Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by 67 runs to secure their maiden victory in PSL 8.

Put to bat first, Kings posted a competitive 186-run target on the scoreboard before bowling out Qalandars for 118 runs in 17.3 overs.

Skipper Imad Wasim struck in his last over after Akif Javed took two wickets to put Kings in control against Qalandars.

After Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Amir gave the Kings two early breakthroughs, Tahir Baig and Kamran Ghulam led the run-chase.

But young bowler Akif, who was roped in as a replacement for an injured Mir Hamza, struck twice in his third over to send the two batters back to the pavilion and put his side on course for victory.
