ST KITTS: Suryakumar Yadav led India to victory over the West Indies to take a 2-1 series in the third T20I at Warner Park in St Kitts.

India won the toss and elected to bowl first and restricted the hosts to 164-run before chasing the modest target in 19 overs, thanks to Yadav's quick-fire 44-ball 76.

Skipper Rohit Sharma retired hurt after scoring 11 runs, which is a major concern for India as the Asia Cup 2022 will be kicking off in the UAE in August.

Shreyas Iyer looked good initially but Akeal Hosein sent him back to the pavilion after he scored 24 runs in 27 balls. While wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant scored 33 runs in 26 runs and remained not out.

For the hosts, Akeal, Dominic Drakes, and Jason Holder claimed a wicket each.

Earlier, Kyle Mayers wreaked havoc as he smashed a blistering 50-ball 73 to help his side reach 164.

Mayers' opening partner Brandon Kings also showed great intent at the start, but Hardik Pandya bowled him after he scored 20 runs.

Experienced Bhuvneshwar Kumar got the better of dangerous West Indian skipper Nicholas Pooran 22 (23), while hard-hitter Rovman Powell was sent back to the pavilion by Arshdeep Singh.

The touring party's bowling was led by Bhuvneshwar, who took two wickets, while Pandya and Arshdeep claimed one scalp each.
