Indian captain Virat Kohli has maintained his position of the very best in the ICC Test batsmen’s rankings released on Monday. Kohli currently sits at 922 points from when he last appeared in India’s 2-1 Test series win over Australia.

Just below the Indian skipper is New Zealand captain Kane Williamson with 913 points. Following Williamson is Chesteshwar Pujara on number three with 881 points.

In the team rankings, the top five positions went to India, who remain in the first place, followed by New Zealand, South Africa, England, and Australia taking their spots respectively.

Two Indian bowlers were featured in the top ten with Ravindra Jadeja on the 6th position and Ravichandran Ashwin holding the 10th spot, alongside Vernon Philander of South Africa on number four and Neil Wagner Of New Zealand taking the fifth spot.

England pacer James Anderson has been ruled out of the four-day Test against Ireland due to a calf Injury. If he had been part of the one-off Test, Anderson — who currently stands on the second position — would have gotten a chance to overtake Australia’s Pat Cummins' number one spot.

Anderson was previously surpassed by South African pacer Kagiso Rabada — who is now ranked third — in November last year and again by current best Cummins.

In the list of top-five all-rounders, West Indies Jason Holder takes the top position. Following him is Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and India’s Ravindra Jadeja at the second and third position respectively.
