Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will send a delegation to Pakistan in August to monitor security plans ahead of the team's planned October visit, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday.

The PCB, in a tweet, said that their Sri Lankan counterparts have assured them of sending a security team.

The board mentioned August as the tentative month of their arrival but said that final dates will be announced later.

If all goes according to plan, the two teams will be playing a Test series in Pakistan, which will mark the return of the five-day international cricket to the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked by terrorists in Pakistan in 2009. For the next decade Pakistan were forced to play their home series in the UAE, although that problem has somewhat been resolved in recent years.
