KARACHI: At the UFC events on Saturday night, Nate Diaz slapped a reporter for allegedly tweeting about the welterweight.

When Israel Adesanya fought Jared Cannonier in the UFC 276 main event at the T-Mobile Arena, Diaz was in Las Vegas to witness it.

Reporter Shawny Mack, who was on his first assignment for the brand-new media organisation Full Send MMA, which is run by YouTube sensations the Nelk lads, approached him backstage after the performance.

He was amused by the reporter's attitude and murmured something about tweets he had allegedly sent, but he didn't seem interested in talking to him before posing for pictures. Before Diaz knocked the microphone out of his hand and smacked Mack in the face, Mack tried to joke off the confrontation.

It's unclear what tweets Mack was referring to in the incident because Mack doesn't appear to have an active Twitter account. Jokingly, the reporter had inquired as to if Diaz was there to support Happy Dad hard seltzer brand ambassador and undercard combatant Sean O'Malley, who is a close friend of the Full Send company.

Diaz is currently training for a return to the octagon as he looks to finally fight out his UFC contract and get a chance to test free agency. The promotion are keen for him to fight Khamzat Chimaev but also wants his next fight to correlate with re-signing for them.
