Mohammad Amir and Mitchell Starc lead the wickets tally, Shakib Al Hasan the highest scorer

Three weeks into the ICC World Cup 2019, here are the top run scorers and wicket-takers so far:

Shakib Al Hasan

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been having an insane World Cup. He's smashed 384 runs from 4 matches at an incredible average of 128.00 and equally impressive strike rate of 103.78, to top the run-scorers list in the ongoing tournament.

That includes two centuries, including 124* which powered Bangladesh to the second highest run chase in World Cup history with a remarkable seven-wicket win over the West Indies on Monday.

Joe Root

England's Joe Root is second on the list with 367 runs from 5 matches at an average of 91.75 and striker rate of 99.72. The Test captain has blasted two centuries already, one when he hammered a brilliant 100* off 94 balls to help England chase down 213 against the West Indies.

His second ton in this tournament came against Pakistan, when his 107 went in vain as the hosts suffered an upset defeat. 

Aaron Finch

Australia captain Aaron Finch is up next with 343 runs from 5 matches, at an average of 68.60 and strike rate of 110.64. 

He smashed 153 off 132 balls against Sri Lanka, setting a new record as the highest score by an Australian captain at a men's World Cup, surpassing 140 by Ricky Ponting in the 2003 final against India in Johannesburg.

With 13 wickets from 4 matches, fast bowler Mohammad Amir is the joint-highest wicket-taker along with Mitchell Starc from Australia. He also has the best bowling figures of 5/30 in the tournament so far, achieved against Australia albeit in a lost cause in Taunton. 

The 27-year old has taken the wickets at an average of 13.07 and economy of 4.72. 

Mitchell Starc

Paceman Mitchell Starc also has 13 wickets, from 5 matches, at an average of 19.15 and economy of 5.41. His best 5/46 came when he ripped through the West Indies batting order to help Australia avoid an upset defeat against Jason Holder's XI at Trent Bridge. 

Jofra Archer

Third on the list is England's new pace sensation Jofra Archer, who has 12 wickets from 5 matches with an average of 18.08 and economy of 4.84. 

Archer took a sensational spell of 3/27 to help England to a 104-run win in the opening game of the World Cup.
