Australian, Ugandan teams share special moments amid T20 World Cup 2024

Australian cricket team met the Ugandan players for the first time on Sunday as both teams are staying in the same in thehotel in Port of Spain.

Both the teams, which are gearing up for their first matches in the T20 World Cup, shared a memorable interaction with each other.

During their interaction, Australia's captainMitchell Marsh was honoured with Uganda’s playing shirt. He also posed for photos withAustralia's star batter David Warner while wearing the shirt.

They mingled with the Ugandan team and signed the shirts.

"That was a really special moment," Marsh told reporters in Barbados.

"It's things like that – it's not just about the cricket throughout these World Cups. It's about opportunity and teams having earnt the right to be here," he added.

Meanwhile, the Aussies are all geared up for their first T20 World Cup match against Oman on Thursday, June 6, in Barbados.

However, their squad is still notcomplete with only nine players available for the two warm-up matches.

Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Marcus Stoinis are not present following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but Australia were still able to gain victory with only nine players from their T20 World Cup squad in the warm-up match against Namibia on May 28.

However, they were defeated by West Indies in their second warm-up match on May 30.

Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman

Group C: New Zealand, the West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea

Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Nepal
