KARACHI: Coach of Islamabad United, Dean Jones broke into tears while talking about player Asif Ali’s daughter getting diagnosed with cancer, on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, the former Australian cricketer became overwhelmed with emotions as he talked about the United players’ daughter who was diagnosed with an incurable cancer on Thursday.

In spite of the news reaching the cricketer prior to the match on Thursday, Ali performed remarkably against Karachi Kings.

Ali was commended greatly by cricket icons all around from remaining focused in the game despite the heart shattering situation he has been going through.

The team’s victory against Kings in the Eliminator 1 match was also dedicated by many players to the cricketer’s daughter who also wished him a speedy recovery.

“This victory is dedicated to @AasifAli2018’s daughter, she isn’t well. Please pray for her. The entire team is united behind Asif bhai. May she get well soon. #UnitedWeWin,” Shadab Khan tweeted.

Muhammad Sami also tweeted: “Thank you to all @IsbUnited fans for backing us. We are disappointed that we didn’t go all the way. A special mention for @AasifAli2018, who was our star despite his daughter being ill. May she get well soon.”
