India captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy in front of the fans during a grand victory parade atop a bus in Mumbai.

The parade started from the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), saw the players make their way on an open-top bus.

Fans crowded the streets, particularly along Marine Drive, switching on their torches to create a mesmerising visual spectacle as the champions' procession advanced.

The atmosphere was electric, with chants of victory and patriotism echoing through the streets. India's open-top bus parade, celebrating their T20 World Cup victory, was initially scheduled to start at around 5 PM.

However, due to a slight delay in the team's flight and the bustling activity at the airport, the parade commenced later than planned. Despite these setbacks, the event was a spectacular success.

Marine Drive was jam-packed with fans, creating an electric atmosphere as India's bus made its way slowly towards Wankhede Stadium.

After the parade, a grand felicitation took place at Wankhede Stadium, where fans gathered to celebrate with the team.

Remember, the team was treated with shouts of "India, India" after it touched down at Delhi airport from the Caribbean earlier today, having been delayed for days by Hurricane Beryl.

Later. the squad met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rohit and his team wore Indian jerseys emblazoned with "Champions", as broadcasters showed images of them meeting the premier.

Modi posed for a photograph with the team before sitting down for a chat with the players.
