Emma Raducanu will partner Andy Murray for mixed doubles at the ongoing Wimbledon 2024 in what is likely to be the latter’s final appearance at the Grand Slam.

Emma talked after storming into the third round of Wimbledon women's singles with a 6-1, 6-2 second-round victory over Elise Mertens.

This is the first time she’s reached the third round of a Grand Slam tournament since she captured the 2021 US Open title.

The 21-year-old Brit had been to the second round of majors five times since then, but was stopped every time—until now.

Meanwhile, she revealed on why she couldn't say no to Murray on playing mixed doubles.

"My doubles record isn’t the longest or most vast. I couldn’t say no. It’s a once in a life time opportunity. It’s a dream of mine since I was a young girl. Andy is a hero to all of us. For me it’s a real gift and it’s a real honour that he asked me." she said after the game.

"It’s a moment I could never say no to. I’m super excited to be on the mixed doubles court and hopefully learn a thing or two about coming to the net or something," she added.

It is worth mentioning that Murray withdrew from the singles as he couldn’t recover properly from his back injury but he will be in action in men’s and as well as mixed doubles.

Murray underwent a back operation last month and he has been training hard to get a fitting farewell by ending the tournament on a high note.
