Ahsan Ramzan, Hasnain Akhtar reach final of Asian U21 Snooker Championship

Two Pakistanis, Mohammad Hasnain Akhtar and Ahsan Ramzan, have qualified for the final of the Asian Under-21 Snooker Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Hasnain defeated Shawn Lee of Hong Kong. The semi-final, which consisted of best-of-seven frames, saw Akhtar emerge victorious with a score of 4-1. Hassan's victory came with scores of 54-64, 21-59, 61-15, 10-86, and 35-63

Meanwhile, Ahsan defeated Iran's Tirdad Azadipour with a scoreline of 4-1. Ahsan's scores against the Iranian competitor were 2-108, 24-61, 1-55, 56-48, and 7-63.

On the other hand, Pakistan's Awais Munir qualified for the final of the Asian 6-Red Snooker Championship. He beat compatriot Asjad Iqbal 5-2 in the semi-final.

Awais secured victory by winning five consecutive frames after initially trailing 0-2. In the final, Awais will face Hong Kong's Nansin Wan.

Munir defeated Hong Kong China’s Fung Kwok Wai 5-2 in the quarter-final.

It must be noted that all four Pakistan players remained unbeaten during the group stage matches of the tournament as well.

Following the outstanding performance, Pakistan are assured of one gold medal, two silver medals, and one bronze medal in the ongoing competitions in Saudi Arabia.

The finals of the senior and U19 events will be held tomorrow.
