Pakistan cricket team has been facing severe criticism from fans and former players after their poor performance in the ongoingT20 World Cup which led to their elimination from the tournament.

The Green Shirts failed to even proceed to the Super Eight stage of the tournament after losing their two initial matches against United States and arch-rivals India.

The match between the USA and Ireland abandoned due to rain on Friday, the co-hosts secured one point, consequently ending Pakistan's hopes of proceeding in the tournament.

Following the Men in Green's elimination, the International Cricket Council (ICC) posted a video on their Instagram handle, featuring Tanvi Shah and veteran cricketer Wasim Akram.

During their conversation, Shah says that this is the third time in the history of T20 World Cup that Pakistan are out in the first round.

To this, Wasim first congratulates the co-hosts of the tournament on their promotion to the Super Eight while mentioning about Pakistan’s departure from the country.

"Congratulations to team USA; they’ve done amazingly well. When you talk about globalisation of the game, this is it USA qualifying for the Super Eights. They deserve to be there. They’ve beaten Pakistan in the round match so they’re there," said the former player.

Wasim then goes on to troll Pakistan, saying: "For Pakistan, what’s the plan? EK-601 to Dubai and then to the respective cities. We’ll see what happens next from there onwards."

The national team's last league game against Ireland on Sunday (June 16) will only be a formality, after which the squad will return home.
