AVC Challenge Cup: Pakistan beat Thailand to qualify for quarter-final

The Pakistan volleyball team defeated Thailand 25-22, 25-14 and 25-21 in yet another world-class display in the ongoing AVC Challenge Cup which is being played in Bahrain.

With the comfortable win over Thailand, the Pakistan team led by Murad Khan qualified for the quarter-finals as they now sit on top of Pool B.

In the quarter-final, Pakistan will face the side finishing second in Pool D.

Pakistan have now won 11 matches in a row under new coach Ruben Wolochin. With two wins in the first two matches, the morale within the team is surely high as theyalso defeated Australia recently in a three-match series and are eager to continue their high flight.

Earlier in their first match of the tournament, the Pakistan Volleyball teamdefeated Kazakhstan 3-0 with scorelines of 25-19, 25-19, and 25-21.

The match was part of the Preliminary Round and witnessed the utmost resilience and discipline from the Pakistan team that didn’t give any ground to their opponent and went on to win with a strong performance.

After the win against Kazakhstan, Wolochin expressed his happiness over the team’s performance as he believed that the team perfectly executed his strategies.

"The boys played with great determination and executed the strategies perfectly,” said Wolochin. “This win is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

Remember, Wolochin’s coaching staff includes Brazilian physical trainer Lucas Rodrigues who has been instrumental to the team’s success recently as he is the key to the team’s physical condition, which has been great.

Pakistan’s assistant coach Mohammad Ismail Khan and analyst Juan Cobucci have also played their part in preparing the team for such tournaments so the team could have a shot at lifting the title.
