The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has finalised the diaspora players for the Fédération Internationale de football association (FIFA) World Cup in 2026, that will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The formation of the national squad for the match against Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan is nearing completion.
The head coach of the PFF has finalised nine diaspora players for the national football squad, including goal keeper Yusuf Butt.
However, Abdul Samad Arshad, based in Denmark, was unable to make it to the final list.
Moreover, Adam Khan and McKeal Abdullah joined the Pakistani team for the very first time.
According to the sources, prominent names like Harun Hamid, Otis Khan, Imran Kayani, Rahis Nabi, Mohammad Fazal, and Abdullah Iqbal are part of the squad for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Round 2.
The Pakistan football team and Saudi Arabia will come face-to-face at Jinnah Football Stadium, Islamabad, on Thursday, June 6. Whereas, Pakistan will play against Tajikistan at Dushanbe Central Stadium, on Tuesday, June 11.
The Pakistani team has worked effortlessly on their skills and tactics to confront their opponent.
Pakistan is at the bottom of Group G as they have lost all their four matches they have played so far. Pakistan began their journey with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia in Al-Ahsa in November followed by a 6-1 loss at the hands of Tajikistan at Islamabad in the same month.
Jordan then defeated Pakistan 3-0 in Islamabad in a game held in Ramadan with the Shaheens also losing the reverse fixture 7-0 at the Amman International Stadium.
